Fishmans' first album for Polydor stretches eight songs over three-quarters of an hour, built on dub's space and repetition with Shinji Sato's light, drifting melodies on top. It sold modestly at home. After Sato's death in 1999 the band's reputation kept growing, and in the internet era listeners far outside Japan came to treat this record as one of the essential Japanese albums of the decade.
