Trans Europa Express

Kraftwerk's 1977 album, issued in German and English versions, builds a portrait of Europe from rail travel, mirrors and mannequins using synthesizers and electronic percussion. The title track's mechanical rhythm was taken up by Afrika Bambaataa for Planet Rock in 1982, one route by which the record shaped hip hop and electronic dance music.
