Lin Qiuyun

A maths teacher for thirty-one years, and a mender of radios.

Ms Lin taught maths at a county secondary school for thirty-one years. Her students remember two things: she never rushed a problem, and there was always a radio, opened up, on her office windowsill.

She used to say that mending a radio and solving a problem are the same thing: first listen carefully to what is wrong, then go one part at a time.

She applied for this plaque herself. She is very much alive, and comes back now and then to add to it.

The rest is kept for the people she recognised. Ask her warden ↓

No lamps yet. Pass the warden to light the first.

Lamps on a practice plaque say so.

Example wardens follow a script. They quote what was written, and say “she wrote”, never “I”.
