Perpetual Plaques
A plaque is not an obituary. Living people have them too: a short record of who you are and what you care about, kept where the people you recognise can find it.
What a plaque holds
As much as you choose.
- Public
- A name or a pen name, one line, the things you made, linked to your exhibits. The number of lamps lit.
- Recognised
- Letters, stories, a voice note you recorded yourself, where a keepsake is and who to ask for it. The right to light a lamp and leave a word.
- Sealed
- What should wait for a date, or for your keepers.
A plaque for someone else needs their consent, or, for someone who has passed away, the agreement of their close family. Every application is reviewed by a librarian.

Lamps are not likes. Only people your warden recognises can light one, so each lamp means someone who knew you came by.
