Attributed to Shiokawa Bunrin, a Kyoto painter of the Shijō school, which favoured soft washes and observed nature over bold outlines. Almost nothing here is drawn with a line: moon, hills and mist are all pools of diluted ink on silk. It is the quietest night on this wall.
