Ledger Room
A library that asks for trust should show its books. Every cost is written here, and so is the plan for the day we cannot go on.

PERPETUAL, HONESTLY
What “perpetual” means here.
Not a promise that a server runs forever. It means: the format is open, every exhibit and plaque can be exported and printed, the code is free to copy, librarians take over from each other, and copies are archived outside this site. As long as someone cares, it stays.
IF WE CLOSE
The shutdown protocol
- At least twelve months of notice.
- Every owner receives their exhibit or plaque as files, still locked as before.
- The spec and the code stay public, free to fork.
- The domain passes to a named successor, or points to an archive.
- The register is then deleted.
WHAT WE STORE
Stored, and not stored.
- Stored
- Librarians: email, pen name, number, language, listed or not, dates. Exhibits and plaques: the public layer, the recognised layer as ciphertext we cannot read, the warden's questions, lamps and the notes left with them. A salted hash of your network address for one day, to stop abuse.
- Never stored
- The answers to warden questions, keys, shares, sealed files, funds, cookies, analytics. Cold Vaults are your own contracts on a public chain; we hold nothing in them.
